This whitepaper provides a deeper insight into the technical details of the embeNET Suite wireless mesh communication platform. It includes the description of the system components constituting the suite, their functions and architecture. It also provides detailed information about the network simulator tool that we use to validate the user requirements prior to pilot installation.

This whitepaper presents the concept, simulations and test results of a new wireless control and telemetry solution for smart luminaries using a highly scalable embeNET wireless mesh network protocol. We present the principle of operation of the embeNET Blink framework, which is designed to provide a low-latency opportunistic protocol for local control of lamps, but at the same time provides a way to carry the control messages across a potentially large embeNET wireless network. The protocol can also be used in more generic applications that require fast, asynchronous communication next to a reliable synchronous mesh network.
